A brief factual recitation: Born in California, grew up there and in New York (2 years) and West Virginia (3 years). As as adult, lived briefly in Dublin, Ireland; Brattleboro, Vermont (post-graduate study), New York, New York; Boulder, Colorado; and Washington, D.C. But lived mainly in Berkeley, California.
Attended California public schools, which, at that time, were either #1 or #2 in the USA for many years. Got my BA at University of California, Berkeley, my MA at the American University in Washington, D.C. and did post graduate work in cross-cultural studies at the School for International Training in Vermont. Had a career of over 25 years working in arts organizations, theatre and various other non-profits.
I now live in a small English village, having started anew in my fifties. I probably should say it was scary and daring; but I was never more sure of the rightness of anything than I was of moving here. When you fall in love in your twenties, that’s one thing. But when it happens in your fifties, that’s another thing altogether. You don’t fall then. You meet love with love, arms open and waiting to enfold each other. Your life experience has shown you how rare and amazing it is to love and be loved completely, without conditions.
